Welcome to the 2014-2015 school year!
This is my third year at Centennial and my fifth year teaching students with special needs. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Northern Colorado and my Master's degree in Special Education from Western State Colorado University.
I teach Life Skills, Math 1, Math 2, and ESS language arts. The primary focus in these classes is functional skills so students can live independently and participate in their community with confidence. All students in Math 1 and Math 2 are expected to have a calculator. Glue, colored pencils or markers, and scissors will be helpful for students in Math I/II to construct our interactive math notebooks. All students in Life Skills and ESS Language Arts should have a 3-ring binder. Please refer to the files provided below to view the syllabus.
I teach APEX 8th hour for students who need to recover credits. The APEX syllabus is provided below. Students and parents are welcome to email me with questions regarding APEX classes. To reach the APEX lab (Room 308), call 423-3839. I am available in the lab from 3:00 to 5:00 Monday through Thursday. Due to school-wide staff meetings, there will not be 8th hour APEX on the following dates: September 10, October 8, November 12, December 10, January 14, February 11, March 11, April 8, and May 13.
I am available to unlock APEX quizzes and answer questions via email on Sundays from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or call my classroom at 423-3974. The best time to reach me is during 4th hour (10:32-11:24).
