CHS Speech & Debate Shines

Centennial's Speech & Debate team finished 1st in debate sweepstakes and 2nd in overall sweepstakes at the Colorado Grande District of the National Speech and Debate Association's national qualifying tournament held on March 2nd and 3rd.

Mia Gilbertson & Joli Dou
swept (were the only winners) in Lincoln-Douglas Debate
Crystal Wahlen 
qualified in Humorous Interpretation
Caelen Burand 
qualified in the Senate (Congressional Debate)
 Justin Shure & Maya Maes-Johnson 
were 2nd alternates in Public Forum Debate
Josh North & Caelen Burand 
were 1st alternates in PF Debate
Alanna Jackson 
was 5th in LD Debate
Maddie Siegrist
was 7th in Original Oratory
Ben Christoferson 
was 3rd in Dramatic Interpretation (1st alternate to nationals)
Andrew Li 
was 7th in Foreign Extemp Speaking
Caelen Burand
was 5th in the same event
Joli Dou
was a semi-finalist in Informative Speaking.

Two weeks ago Centennial qualified 11 students to the CHSAA State Champions Speech and Debate meet to be held later this month at Rocky Mountain HS in Fort Collins:

Caelen Burand qualified in Foreign Extemp Speaking
Maddie Siegrist was district champion in Original Oratory
